Meethe Mein Kya Hai Review: Sab Kuch Hai! Dil aur Mithaas se bhara hai!
Every year, Netflix drops that one quiet film that feels just like a warm cup of chai on a rainy evening—and this year, it’s Radhika Bansal’s Meethe Mein Kya Hai. Anchored by the legendary Rohini Hattangadi alongside Ritvik Bhowmik and Ayesha Mirza, the film tenderly follows a grieving widower navigating a festive family gathering during Diwali.
Tender and quietly understated, the film makes for a genuinely moving watch. Wholesome and unhurried, it never strains to deliver a heavy-handed message; instead, it gently mends something inside that it never broke. Much of this emotional grace belongs to its stellar cast, delicate screenplay, and deeply felt direction. Set in the winding bylanes of Lucknow, the sprawling family kothi almost becomes a character of its own, mirroring the Rastogi family’s messy, affectionate chaos. If there is a minor flaw, it lies in the production design, which occasionally feels a bit too staged and could have matched the lived-in authenticity of the writing.
"Problem chahe kisi ki bhi ho, poori family use solve karne mein lag jaati hai chahe khud ki life mein kitne kalesh ho"—this single line sums up the film’s emotional core and leaves an enduring impression. The Bollywood Elephant rates it a solid 4.5 elephants. Whether you should watch it isn’t even up for debate; do not miss it.
