The Drama Review - The Drama So Engaging you grab the popcorn!
Kristoffer Borgli’s The Drama is a masterclass in cinematic anxiety. It’s a film you don't just watch—you feel it, from the characters' internal whirlwinds to the uneasy silliness of its plot. With an exceptionally smart screenplay that jumps between past and present, it keeps you entirely invested for its 107-minute runtime. Come for the twisted exploration of human relationships, but stay for Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, who deliver standout performances backed by absolute electric onscreen chemistry.
Driven by exceptional chemistry and standout individual performances, The Drama thrives under Kristoffer Borgli’s commanding direction and crisp screenplay, which deserves award-season recognition. However, the film falters in its final 15 minutes; a surprisingly conventional, rom-com-style ending minimizes its overall impact and leaves you questioning the payoff. Additionally, the lack of development for the side characters hurts the narrative, missing an opportunity for deeper conflict. A little more sustained drama could have elevated this brilliant piece further, but the lead pairing still makes it well worth the watch.
Rating The Drama an 4/5 elephants, this flawlessly written must-watch will stick with you long after the credits roll.
